Mark your calendars for 2016 SNCA/SCAA spring conference in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 31-April 1!
This year’s theme is Advocacy and Engagement: Demonstrating the Value of Archives. The one and a half day SNCA/SCAA joint conference will take place at the Mint Museum Uptown. There will be a full day of programming on Thursday, March 31st followed by desserts and drinks in the evening. Friday, April 1st will include a half day of conference programming.
Three half-day pre-conference workshops will be held on March 30th at the Mercy Heritage Center in Belmont, NC. Workshop descriptions are available here.
Free Flood Damage Advice TODAY from USC Libraries
USC Libraries offer free advice on recovering treasures from flood damage, today from 2:00pm to 7:00pm!
The University of South Carolina Libraries are offering free advice to those affected by the flood to help stop further deterioration and start the recovery process for damaged books, papers, films, photographs and memorabilia. Librarians and archivists from UofSC are partnering with other state library and archive officials to provide basic information necessary to potentially save damaged family treasures. No registration required.
Interested community members are invited to stop by for advice on Thursday, October 15 between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the Russell House Patio, 1400 Greene Street in Columbia. Parking is available in the Bull Street garage behind the Russell House.
